Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Sports Medicine (Travel)
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Setting: 100% Outpatient
Shift: Days, 10:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Start Date: April 6, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
- Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems using physical or mechanical means to maintain or restore function impaired by injury or disease.
- Focus on pain management and promotion of mobility and health as prescribed by the referring physician.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care.
- Administer all physical therapy modalities and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year.
- Experience in an outpatient setting.
Skills
- Strong accountability in assessment, evaluation, decision-making, and time management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free outpatient setting.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases, combative patients, and hazardous chemicals.
- Subject to stressful professional relationships.
- Physically demanding: prolonged standing and walking, lifting and transferring patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs).

- Weekend and on-call requirements: None.
- This is a backfill replacement position.
