Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, Days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday
  • Call required as needed
  • Float required during COVID surge
  • Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
  • Procedures:
    • Invasive Cath Procedures (25-35 per day)
    • Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion
    • Left and Right heart catheterization, rotablader
    • Cardiac interventions and adjunct therapies (atherectomy, IMPELLA, IABP, ACIST, OCT, LHC, RHC, Swan, IVUS, Angioget, Radial/ulnar/femoral access)
    • EP lab: devices/ablation, EP study
    • PV lab: fistula, A/O LE runoff, pedal access, thrombectomy, hemodynamic monitoring, conscious sedation
  • Systems: EPIC - CUPID and XPER Witt for hemodynamic monitoring
  • Diagnoses: Coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmia, irregular rhythms, abnormal electrical function of the heart

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
  • Experience working with Adult and Geriatric patients
  • Scrub skills
  • EKG skills

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
  • Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
  • Education Verification and Transcript/Diploma as applicable
  • Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) if mandated by position (not typically for Cath Lab Tech)
  • Physical Exam (if applicable)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required by 10/20)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 40 days of start
  • References: 2 supervisory references required from clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
  • Employment Application/Resume with 7-year work history
  • Work History Verification for last 5 years
  • Skills Checklist: Annual update required with a one-week grace period

Additional Information

  • Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Floating policy applies to all agency staff
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • Pass/Fail Testing: EPIC and Dysrhythmia/EKG testing required with 2 attempts allowed
  • Facility-specific photo requirements for badge (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
  • Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start

This position offers a comprehensive Cath Lab Tech role with exposure to a wide range of cardiac catheterization procedures in a busy clinical environment. It is suitable for candidates with at least 1 year of experience in the specialty, including first-time travelers.
