Job Opportunity: RRT PICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- First Time Travelers Accepted
- Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, every other week (EOW) required
- Primarily assigned to Labor & Delivery (L&D) with floating to PICU, NICU, and Pediatrics units
- May also float to IU Health North Hospital
- Home unit assignment based on NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics experience but can change based on facility needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS
- Experience working with Adult patients, Maternal-Fetal patients, and Pediatric patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Unit & Floating Information
- Experience required in NICU or PICU
- Floating between PICU, NICU, and Pediatrics units expected
- May float to other hospital locations within the system
Required Compliance & Documentation
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background checks including:
- 7 years residence/work history verification
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification and official transcripts/diplomas required
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
- Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season; no declinations accepted
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if positive history
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and unit competency exam required
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with appropriate supervisory titles
- Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days
Additional Notes
- IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities after 11/30/24 except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (not applicable to this RRT role)
- Mandatory RRT modules must be completed prior to orientation with a hard deadline one week before start
- HIPAA and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start
This position is ideal for Respiratory Therapists with pediatric critical care experience looking for a travel contract in a children's hospital setting with a focus on L&D and PICU units.
