Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Radiologic Technologist – Interventional to work collaboratively with vascular interventional physicians and nurses. The role involves using multiple imaging modalities (Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, MR) for diagnostic and interventional purposes on inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and intra-operative patients. Critical thinking skills are essential.
Schedule
- Days, 8-hour shifts
- Start times between 7 AM - 10 AM
- Monday through Friday
- On holiday weeks, assigned 4x10-hour shifts
- No weekends or holidays required
- Possible standby shifts if needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years clinical interventional imaging experience
- Neuro experience preferred but not required
Education
- Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- State of Wisconsin Licensed Radiographer required
- ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) required; Vascular (V) certification highly preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association required
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with vascular interventional team including physicians and nurses
- Utilize multiple imaging modalities for diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Image a variety of patient types including pediatric and intra-operative patients
- Use critical thinking skills in clinical decision-making
Facility Requirements
- Candidate’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Floating required: may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
Required Compliance and Documentation
- Background checks including criminal history and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state requirements
- Education verification and licensure primary source verification
- Various certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP as applicable
- Drug screening per facility and agency standards
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB testing and questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
- Varicella vaccination or exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Other vaccines or declinations as required by department (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)
- Facility-specific testing such as telemetry exams if applicable
- Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing as required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience as a Vascular Interventional Technologist and Vascular Interventional Technician
- Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Graduation from a radiologic technology school
- Experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings
