Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (MedSurg RN)

Location: Mullins, South Carolina
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MedSurg RN)
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Patient Ratios: 1:6-7
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Yes

• Floating: Yes, within scope to like units/sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical (MedSurg) nursing experience within the last year
• Experience in MedSurg and Telemetry nursing
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Locals: Not accepted
• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Schedule: Approval can be requested but not guaranteed

• Total Staffed Beds: 28 inpatient beds
• Charting System: Epic
• Parking: Free

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must include 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
• Immunizations & Health:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
  • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30), medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
  • COVID-19 Vaccines: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified (exceptions apply)
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable
• Facility Specific Documents: Must complete orientation modules and first day instructions prior to start
• Photo: Passport-style photo required for badge

Additional Notes

• Radiation Badge: Not required for MedSurg RN
• Education Verification: Diploma or transcripts can be used as placeholder if verification is pending
• License Verification: NURSYS verification required for RN license
• IV Certification: Not required for RN but may be required for LPNs if applicable
• Scheduling: Night shift with weekend and holiday rotations; floating required
• Locals are not accepted for this position

This position is ideal for a MedSurg RN with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working night shifts with weekend and holiday rotations, and willing to float within similar units. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses.
