Job Description

• Must have EPIC experience within the past year on the same unit type as the position.
• Proficiency with EPIC is required to obtain EPIC access.
• If EPIC experience is not from a Parkview facility, attendance at EPIC orientation (off-site) is required.
• Experience required in both OR and PACU settings.
• Must be able to function independently in circulator and PACU roles.
• Call schedule: every 3rd to 4th weekend plus one weekday (may vary).
• Typical hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (may vary based on caseload).
• Case types include ortho, C-sections with limited other gyn, general surgery, podiatry, robotic surgery, and endoscopy.
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience within the last year.
• Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Prior Travel Experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• Emergency Contact Form.
• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and state-specific license verification.
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year.
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titer.
  • Hepatitis B status (titer, declination, or vaccine series).
  • Varicella immunity documentation.
  • Flu vaccine mandatory during flu season (October-May 31); declinations require exemption approval.
• Drug screening (9 or 10 panel) within 1 year.
• NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam.
• Unit-specific skills checklist annually.
• References: 2 professional references for travel or acute care roles.
• Employment history verification.
• HIPAA Safety Manual acknowledgment annually.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with recent EPIC experience in PACU/OR settings who are comfortable working independently and taking call.
