Location: Missoula, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

- Teaching Hospital
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Any color for RN/Allied; scrubs provided in sterile units (OR/ICU/ER/COVID)

Job Details
- Position may float between units
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Weekends: Yes, as needed

Required Specialty & Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer)
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years (highest requirement found)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Required Licenses & Certifications
- License: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer license as applicable for Montana
- Certifications (must be current and from approved organizations):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – if applicable
- Other certifications as required by clinical track or facility
Required Compliance & Background Checks
- Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education Verification required for all candidates
- State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington, Oregon)
- Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit Mask Test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination accepted
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer, declination accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer, declination accepted
- Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination accepted
- COVID Vaccine or declination required
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
Competency & Training Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exams as required by specialty
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit
- Specialty-specific competency exams (e.g., EFM for L&D RNs)
- Facility and regional mandatory training modules via WorkRamp LMS, including:
- Annual Regulatory Requirements
- Specialty Specific Modules
- Regional Core and Specialty Modules
- Trauma Informed Care (effective 12/22/2025)
- Epic Access Training Modules required prior to moving to Paid Day Work status
Additional Notes
- Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Radiation Badge: Facility responsible for issuing if applicable
- Photo for Badge: Passport style photo with neutral background required
- Some state-specific and facility-specific documents and attestations may be required depending on assignment location
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Recent Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level II Trauma patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
This position is ideal for experienced Echo Techs / Cardiac Sonographers seeking a travel contract in a Level II Trauma teaching hospital setting with a 1:1 patient ratio and flexible scheduling including on-call and weekend shifts.
