Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position does not float between units
- On-call required: Yes, 3 shifts per month
- Weekends required: No
- Block schedules required: Yes
- Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Must hold a valid license for X-Ray Tech in Oregon
- Certifications (as applicable):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- Other certifications as required by clinical track or facility
Required Compliance & Background Checks
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- State-specific searches as applicable (Oregon Abuse/Neglect, Washington WSP/WATCH for border placements)
- Drug screening: 10 panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually for travel staff
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance annually for respirator use
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist as applicable, updated annually
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blind testing if required by unit
- Competency exams as required by specialty
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, regional, and facility-specific) prior to start and annually thereafter
- Epic training modules completion required for charting system access
Scheduling & Work Environment
- Shift hours: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- No weekend requirement
- On-call 3 shifts per month
- Block scheduling required
- No floating between units
This position offers an opportunity to work in a large, teaching, short-term acute care hospital with a focus on Radiology/Cardiology imaging services. The role requires compliance with extensive credentialing, background, and health requirements to ensure patient and staff safety.
