Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Athens, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Patient Population

  • Adults to Geriatrics

Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and ED
  • Patient conditions include post-op CABG, thoracic and vascular surgeries, respiratory failure (non-invasive ventilation), cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, neuro disorders
  • 32-bed unit with average daily census of 21
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
  • Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, CPAP
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Cardiac Stepdown nursing
  • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Experience in an acute care setting
