Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Athens, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Patient Population

Adults to Geriatrics

Unit & Work Environment

Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and ED
Patient conditions include post-op CABG, thoracic and vascular surgeries, respiratory failure (non-invasive ventilation), cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, neuro disorders
32-bed unit with average daily census of 21
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, CPAP
Scrub color: Navy Blue
Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
Weekends: Every other weekend
Call: None
Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in Cardiac Stepdown nursing
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
Experience in an acute care setting
