Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with CVOR specialty for a travel/contract position. The patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Registered Nurse, CVOR)
  • 1st time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty area (e.g., PALS, NRP) but not specified as mandatory for this role

Clinical Skills & Work Setting

  • Endovascular experience, vascular service line, EVAR preferred
  • Experience with CSI, Penumbra preferred
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • Unit systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis
  • Scrubs: OR scrubs provided by facility

Work Schedule & Call Requirements

  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Rarely to Main OR
  • Call:
    • Overnight call ~2 times per week
    • Regular day call ~1 time per month
    • Approximately 2 weekend call shifts per month
  • Holidays: Expected to work 1-2 major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Experience working with geriatric patients

Required Background & Health Documents

  • Background check within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification
  • Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly recommended)
    • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
  • TB questionnaire updated annually

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Color blind testing required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (may apply)
  • General competency exam required

Additional Requirements

  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof)
  • Two clinical references required

Notes

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager approval
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
