Job Opportunity: Surgical Technologist First Assistant

Location: Glen Dale, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift:

• Dayshift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Call required from 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM, with possible weekend call (up to 3 days per week)
• Some shifts may be 4-10 hours

Job Description

• Assist surgeons directly during procedures as the surgeon’s first assistant
• Work under supervision of surgeon, nurse, anesthesiologist, and/or CRNA
• Provide care in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Apply sterile and aseptic techniques
• Utilize knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgical tools/technologies to facilitate invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology surgical assisting program (CAAHEP accredited)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist First Assistant

Additional Information

• Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius
• Unexpired driver’s license required
• Disclosure of any licensing issues required at time of submission
