Job Opportunity: RN - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday (5x8hr shifts)
Call Requirements:

• Minimum 1 weekday call per week
• Weekend rotation
• On-call shifts Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in patient care during surgical procedures. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other staff
• Ensuring availability of supplies and timeliness of cases
• Communicating with patient families
• Updating physician preference cards
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgeries
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care

The RN must demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients
• Clinical experience with general surgery including OBGYN, orthopedics, plastic surgery, endocrine, endoscopy, and trauma procedures
• Fingerprints required for all New Mexico travelers (agency must be registered with the state)
