Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Friday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
- Experience with extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, chest/thorax
- Experience in ER, OR, Level 1 Trauma, Surgery/C-Arm
- Equipment used: GE & Siemens
Facility Information
- Level 1 trauma center
- Supports over 30 ORs, 6 ICUs, 70+ bed ER, and approximately 700 inpatient beds
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- ARRT Certification
- Indiana state license (pending license acceptable with ETA 2 weeks)
Prior Travel Experience
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Important Policies
- If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift:
- Must make up the day during the pay period if working 0.9 FTE
- If unable to make up during the pay period (0.9 FTE), shift added at end of contract
- For 1.2 FTE, call-in shifts added to end of contract
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- 7 years lived/worked history
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education verification
- International search if lived/worked outside US in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Transcript/Diploma (official copy required, may be pending at start)
- Education verification by 3rd party (may be pending at start)
Required Health Documents & Immunizations
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (3M N95 or Honeywell N95 approved models)
- Tuberculosis test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (history not accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Preferred but not required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31), no declinations accepted
- TB Questionnaire required and must be updated annually
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
- Unit competency exam
- Color blind testing
Orientation & Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms and packets prior to start (time sensitive)
- HIPAA Acknowledgement required
- Must complete self-study orientation and tests as required by the facility
- Must complete mandatory training modules if applicable (e.g., RRT candidates only)
References & Employment History
- Minimum 2 references from recent employment within 2 years
- References must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above (team lead acceptable for Allied travelers)
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30+ days
- Skills checklist within 12 months and annually thereafter
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Indiana (pending license acceptable with ETA 2 weeks)
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technician experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT Certification
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
