Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Onaga, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Room nursing.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kansas.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense).
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) highly encouraged.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Kansas.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year.
• ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Proof of I9 or Attestation.
• Government issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service.
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal check within a year of start, updated annually.
  • SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Facis level 3.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals.
  • Kansas State Exclusion search.
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines).
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination).
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season or approved exemption with masking.
  • COVID vaccine or declination required.
• Drug testing:

  • 9 or 10 panel drug screen within the last 12 months, updated annually.
• Competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit.

Additional Information

• Local candidates accepted.
• On-unit orientation will be completed at assigned location based on unit or manager scheduling.

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned.

This position is ideal for ER Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of ER experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications seeking a travel contract in Kansas.
