Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: Day/Evening rotating shifts (2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts) with option for 5x8-hour shifts
- Day and evening shift rotation is required
- Call requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends of call per 4-week schedule
- Patient population: Adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients with complex and high acuity cases
- Procedures include:
- Cardiac: Cardiac surgery, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, Heart Transplant, MAZE, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices
- Thoracic: VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Lung Transplant, Hiatal Hernia Repair
- Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- OR Scrub RN experience
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required and updated annually
- I9 or attestation required
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Facility-specific orientation and documentation must be completed within 3 weeks of start
- Two recent professional references required (from managers/supervisors; charge RN references not accepted)

- Flexible scheduling and time-off requests accommodated by management
- Call shifts limited to 12 hours max, with weekend call structured to preserve most of the weekend

Important Notes
- Flu vaccination is mandatory starting 10/31/2025 through Winter 2026 with no exemptions
- COVID vaccinations are no longer required
- Orientation includes pass/fail competency testing; educational support provided
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with prior travel experience seeking a challenging role in a high-acuity adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery environment.
