Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Ortho Specialty)
Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call required
- Float to other units as needed
- Charge RN shifts required as needed
- Unit: 29-bed unit caring for adult through geriatric orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
- Patient population includes total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and telemetry monitoring
- Physical therapy gym available on unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Charge RN roles
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education Verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
- Transcript/Diploma as applicable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Fit mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators required)
- Fingerprinting (if applicable for position)
Additional Requirements
- 2 supervisory references required from clinical assignments (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
- Annual skills checklist with one-week grace period for renewal
- Completion of facility-specific documents including:
- Floating policy acknowledgment
- Contractor equipment acknowledgment
- Health history form
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgment (EPIC and Dysrhythmia/EKG)
- Job description review
- Dress code review
- Workday login and onboarding tasks completion prior to start
Important Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Prior travel experience is mandatory for this role
- Charge RN experience is required and candidates will be expected to work charge shifts as needed
- Pass/fail EKG exam is mandatory for all RNs at this facility
- Floating to other units may be required
