Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA, ARC, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Mexico
• Primary source online verification required (e.g., NURSYS)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documents & Checks

• I9 verification
• Driver’s License or State ID
• E-Verify compliance
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• Fingerprinting onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Education verification (highest level)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year
• TB questionnaire if positive results (renew annually)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Photo for badge
• Completed employment application/resume
• Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
• 7-year work history verification

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Any color, no logos
• Unit welcomes first-time travelers
• Behavioral Health nurses require APNA eLearning Center certification for restraint/seclusion assessment prior to start (if applicable)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency tests required as applicable (minimum 80% passing score)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing, comfortable working night shifts, and able to float between units. Prior travel experience is not required.
