Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Interventional Radiology Tech with a minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The position requires working days, weekends (every other weekend), and call shifts. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required.
Required Experience

- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Interventional Radiology (highest requirement)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- Call shifts required; callouts for scheduled shifts must be made up as necessary
- Floating between like units within scope is required
- Locals are not accepted (50-mile radius rule applies)
- Pending license not accepted
- Return staff policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- System contract limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
- ARRT certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Must be ARRT registered (Interventional Radiology Tech license)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for Special Procedures (IR)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Basic Dysrhythmia) required and must be renewed annually
- Tech Certification Verification - National
- State License verification (must be current and renewed if expiring the month of start)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP may be required depending on unit assignment
Required Background & Health Documents
- Background check within 6 months of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval
- COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available
Additional Facility Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, professional)
- Completion and signing of various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, patient identification, call out acknowledgement, corporate code of conduct, professional appearance, parking registration, computer use)
- Completion of mandatory modules prior to start
- Compliance with facility’s return staff and contract limits policies
Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for a call-off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted hours are guaranteed
- Candidates must be willing to accommodate block scheduling if requested
- All certifications expiring the month of start must be renewed prior to start
- Candidates must pass required competency exams with an 80% or higher within 3 attempts or face cancellation
This position is ideal for Interventional Radiology Techs with solid IR experience looking for a travel contract in a Level III Trauma Center environment with a structured schedule including weekends and call.
