Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: Quincy, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (highest requirement found)
• Locals are eligible to apply
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of float experience, including float experience within the last year
• Med Surg experience
• Pediatrics experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – strongly preferred for Oncology
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – strongly preferred for ER

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 30 days of start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (various acceptable testing methods)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required prior to start
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, repeated annually (no rapid results accepted)
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)

Background and Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • Alias check
  • National criminal and sex offender registry
  • Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually and within 30 days of start
• Completion of facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Safety Information)
• Competency exams and unit-specific competency testing required with minimum passing scores (80% or Angoff score)
• Annual OSHA training and Core Part I, II, III training required

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within the last 3 years
• Verification of last 3 years of work history
• Government-issued photo ID and two forms of ID required
• Emergency contact form required prior to start
• Photo for badge (headshot, JPEG format)

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit in Illinois with a 13-week travel contract. The role requires solid RN experience, specific certifications, and compliance with health and safety standards.
