Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a general Emergency Department combining adult and pediatric care
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (0700-1930)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4
• Skills required: Triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients in the ED setting
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Skills in triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy

Prior Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass background checks including criminal, education verification, and drug screening
• Physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (if history of positive TB)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

Work Environment

• Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric patients
• Ratio approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients
• 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
