Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (PCU)

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with experience in PCU/IMC/Stepdown settings. The role includes float responsibilities to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed.

Schedule

• Shift: 1845 - 0715 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Certifications & Exams

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Intermediate Care (IMC) experience
• Stepdown unit experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed (ratios 1:5 or 1:6)
• Must be able to work every other weekend

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer or series completion
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score within 3 years of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam updated annually with required scores as above
• Annual safety manual acknowledgement and facility-specific orientation modules completion

Notes

• Float assignments to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units required as needed
• Unit staffing ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 depending on unit
• No call required
