Description

Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7pm - 7am), weekdays, minimum every other week, including holidays
  • Flexibility: Option to flex to 4x12 shifts if needed (overtime billed after 48 hours)
  • EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred)
  • Openings: 2 (backfill for day manager)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association
    • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

  • Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings required
  • Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Immunizations and titers required or declination accepted for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1) or approved exemption

Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (must meet passing score)
  • Other competency exams as applicable

Notes

  • Locals are eligible to apply
  • Candidates must bring hard copies of all health documents on the first day
  • Performance evaluations and clinical references may be required if previously worked with the agency

This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week night shift contract in North Carolina.
