Job Opportunity: Certified Orthopedic Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Springfield, Illinois

Job Details

  • Shift: 5x8 Days (06:45 AM - 03:15 PM)
  • Average Daily Census: 25 cases/day across 3 rooms
  • Weekend Requirement: None (Block scheduling)
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: No
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Block Scheduling: Yes, to be discussed with manager

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Certified Orthopedic Tech with a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Certified Orthopedic Tech experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Valid/current US Driver’s License or US ID
  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
  • Education verification (High School or College Diploma not required for this role)
  • Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting (must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start)
  • Competency exam (required for all clinical/allied candidates)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
  • Fit mask test (specific mask types required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by 11/30 (not required for non-patient facing or remote candidates)
  • References: 2 professional references required

Additional Notes

  • No license is required for this position.
  • All time off must be approved by the manager.
  • Badge photo required within one week of signing contract.
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific code of conduct and other required documents within 7 days of contract signing.
