Job Opportunity: Outpatient Hospice RN

Location: Albany, Oregon (Coastal area, working between North Lincoln Hospital and Pacific Communities Hospital)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide hospice nursing care supporting patients and families through the final stages of illness.
  • Services are delivered in home settings including patients' residences, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and adult foster homes.
  • Responsibilities include intermittent skilled nursing visits, 24-hour on-call nursing services, pain and symptom management, medical social services, counseling, spiritual support, hospice aides coordination, volunteer support, and bereavement support.
  • Position requires travel between multiple hospital locations on the coast.
  • Use of personal automobile is required; valid driver’s license and auto insurance must be maintained.

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license.
  • Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification.
  • BSN and/or previous home health/hospice or case management experience preferred.
  • Broad-based nursing experience preferred to ensure specialized hospice nursing skills.
