Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend coverage every other weekend
- Floating required to other qualified units/campuses as needed
Patient Population
- Pediatric floors, PICU, ER, NICU
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience with EPIC documentation system
- Experience in ER, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- South Carolina Respiratory Therapist License (RRT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA Advanced only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NBRC RRT or CRT certification accepted
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, STABLE) – check unit specifics
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate and Pediatric patients
- Experience in Acute Care and Inpatient settings
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Experience with EPIC documentation system
Systems and Equipment
- Medication systems: Pyxis and Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC (minimum 1 year experience required)
Floating Policy
- Agency staff must float to other Prisma Health units/campuses as requested due to census needs
- Floating only to units where staff are qualified and have demonstrated competencies
Compliance and Onboarding Requirements
Background Checks
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Fingerprinting required if applicable (e.g., if lived/worked in WV in last 7 years)
Health and Immunization
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (required for clinical staff in high-risk areas)
- Annual flu vaccine or approved exemption required (not required for 100% remote)
- Drug screening within 1 year and updated annually (5-panel minimum)
Competency and Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (annual)
- Core Parts I, II, and III training (annual) including OSHA, patient safety, and age-specific care
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs; check if applicable for Respiratory Therapist role
- Color Blind Testing for Emergency Department staff
- Online Cornerstone Modules to be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Badge photo required prior to start
Additional Documentation
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN licenses (not applicable for RRT)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA, OSHA, TJC training)
- Floating Policy signed annually
