Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for Operating Room assignments with rotating days off (no set or consecutive days). On-call 2–3 days per month, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
- Experience in the following specialties: Neurology, ENT Surgery, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Urology, Vascular Surgery, and Plastic Surgery
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC charting system
Work Environment & Unit Details
- Operating Room specialties include: Neurology, Oral, ENT, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Bariatrics, Urology, Gynecology, Vascular, Robotics, Plastics, Dental, Podiatry
- Special equipment used: Intuitive DaVinci XI, Neptune, Electrical Surgical Unit, Smoke Free Cautery Devices, Stryker Video Tower, Tourniquet, Cori Orthopedic Robot, Olympus Endoscopy Tower, Globus
Schedule
- Rotating days off (no set or consecutive days)
- On-call 2–3 days per month
- Weekends and holidays as needed
Orientation & Onboarding
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions
- Completion of competency checklists within 3 weeks after start date
- Online modules must be completed prior to orientation
- Pass/fail testing on basic knowledge and skills during orientation

- Local candidates within 75 miles considered with adjusted rate
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required for this position
