Job Description

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ years
• Schedule: Rotating days off (no set or consecutive days), on-call 2–3 days per month, weekends and holidays as needed
• First-Timer OK
• Local candidates within 75 miles considered

Unit & Specialty Details

• Unit: Operating Room
• Special Procedures/Units include: Neurology, Oral, ENT, Orthopedics, General, Bariatrics, Urology, GYN, Vascular, Robotics, Plastics, Dental, Podiatry
• Special Equipment used: Intuitive DaVinci XI, Neptune, Electrical Surgical Unit, Smoke Free Cautery Devices, Stryker Video Tower, Tourniquet, Cori Orthopedic Robot, Olympus Endoscopy Tower, Globus

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and others as required within 90 days of start
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Flu seasonal vaccination (mandatory for new candidates during flu season)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Polio vaccine or attestation
• Two professional references from employment within 12 months, at least one supervisor
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
• Scrubs provided
• Candidate must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
• Competency exams and unit-specific training required
• Completion of online modules prior to orientation

Additional Notes

• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding requirements including competency checklists and training modules
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position

This role is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience seeking a travel contract in a dynamic operating room environment with exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties and advanced equipment.
