Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Akron, Ohio
Position Details

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel assignment.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Ohio RN License or a Compact State RN License must be in hand.
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Qualifications & Compliance
Requirements/Qualifications
Valid RN license in Ohio
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum of 18 months total travel experience
Minimum of 1.5 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment.
Background checks including:
- FCRA compliant 7-year search
- SSN Trace
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Education verification
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, updated annually.
Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual updates)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no declinations accepted)
Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually.
Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start.
Orientation & Training
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation.
- Core competency training (Core Part I, II, III) must be updated annually.
- Facility-specific safety and pass/fail testing acknowledgements required.
Additional Requirements
- Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history, including 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
- Two professional references from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
- Compliance with all facility-specific documentation and health requirements prior to start.
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with recent permanent experience, who hold an Ohio or compact state license, and are ready for a night shift travel assignment in Akron, Ohio.
