Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (ICU) - Tennessee, Bristol
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
- Location: Bristol, Tennessee
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Schedule: 36/36 schedule (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
- Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
- Call: No call required
- Floating: May float to PCU with some possible float to Medical-Surgical when needed
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation & Training
- General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
- Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional overtime shifts may be available and flexed as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
Location Requirement
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start (covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
- Primary source verification of state license (NURSYS verification required)
- Photo for badge (must meet specific standards)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, smoking/tobacco use policy, influenza policy, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, and respiratory medical clearance form
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Respirator fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella titer or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
References & Competencies
- Preferably 3 references (minimum 2 accepted)

This position offers a structured travel nursing opportunity in an ICU setting with a supportive orientation and educational environment. It is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of ICU experience and no prior travel experience required.
