Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
  • Required Years of Experience: 2 years
  • Patient Ratio Experience: 1:6 patient ratio experience required
  • Float Requirement: Yes, floating within scope required
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Orientation: Mandatory 5 shifts (36-40 hours) during clinical orientation week
  • RTO (Return to Office) Parameters: No RTO during the first or last week of assignment
  • Local Travel: No locals; must live more than 30 miles from the facility
  • Additional Experience Required:
    • Rapid Response team experience
    • Total joints experience
  • Unit Type: Mixed unit, high acuity

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA (RQI acceptable)
  • BCLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA (RQI acceptable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required except for PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Required Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Florida
  • NURSYS Verification as applicable

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Rapid Response team experience
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • Must complete eLearning modules prior to start (final due date: Monday before start week)
  • Must comply with facility attendance and call-out policies (3 call outs result in termination)
  • Must work assigned holidays and evening shifts as required during assignment
  • Must complete all required health screenings and vaccinations or provide appropriate waivers/exemptions

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation or approved exemption
  • Flu vaccine documentation encouraged but not required for contract workers
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Background checks including Social Security Trace, Education Verification, and others within 6 months of start
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start

Orientation and Onboarding

  • Mandatory clinical orientation week with 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
  • Fit testing for masks completed onsite during first week
  • Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgements (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, timecard expectations)
  • Must complete Non-Employee Orientation Quiz and related documentation promptly

Notes

  • Candidates must provide two professional references within two years of start
  • Performance evaluation within the last year required if previously assigned through any agency
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams required with passing score of 84% or higher
  • Color blindness testing required with minimum 80% score
  • Strict adherence to scheduling and shift change policies is mandatory
