Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Weekends: Every third weekend required
Call: Yes, PACU Phase 1
Floating: Yes, within Surgical Services
Patient Ratio: 1:2

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum 1 year of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with MEDITECH EMR system

Job/Unit Requirements

• Must adhere to a 100-mile radius rule for mileage approval
• Floating within Surgical Services expected
• Call responsibilities in PACU Phase 1

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Background Check: 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level III (must be completed within 30 days of start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education Verification: Proof of highest degree earned (transcripts/diplomas acceptable)
• NURSYS Verification required for all RNs
• Physical Exam: Physician statement within 60 days of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• N95 Fit Test: Required within 12 months of start; can be completed onsite during orientation if needed
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer within 10 years or completed 2-dose MMR vaccine series
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed 3-dose vaccine series, or declination form
  • Varicella: Positive titer or completed 2-dose vaccine series
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Current Tdap within last 10 years required for Birth Center/NICU staff; recommended for others
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 60 days of start (SAMHSA certified, reviewed by MRO)
• Flu Vaccine or Declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); if declined, mask must be worn at all times
• COVID-19 Vaccine or Declination accepted; medical and religious exemptions allowed with declination form

Competencies & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Core competency exams as applicable
• Facility-specific Healthstream modules (~8 hours) required and must be completed prior to start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

References & Evaluations

• Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Performance evaluations required if worked with the agency over 1 year (collected by internal teams)
• Skills checklist required for applicable units, updated annually

This position offers a structured travel contract opportunity for Registered Nurses with PACU experience, requiring specific certifications and MEDITECH EMR proficiency. First-time travelers are welcome.
