Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy)

Location: Biddeford, Maine

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to residents to maximize their functional abilities and independence in activities of daily living. This role involves evaluating residents, developing and implementing therapeutic plans, collaborating with healthcare team members, and documenting care in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician or healthcare provider orders.
• Develop and adjust therapeutic plans of care with functional goals and treatment modalities.
• Collaborate with residents, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Monitor treatment progress and modify plans as needed.
• Document all interactions and treatments in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Recommend and instruct on appropriate assistive devices.
• Provide education to residents and caregivers.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and mentor new staff.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations.
• Maintain department cleanliness and follow infection control procedures.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to new program development.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Maine.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Physical Therapist experience within the last year.

• Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy (Physical Therapist)
• Required years of experience: Minimum 3 years, including experience within the last year.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not specified or required.

Working Conditions

• Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (above 50 pounds requires two-person lift).
• Some stress related to responsibility for quality care.
