Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Tele (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
Work Schedule: 7 AM - 7 PM


Job Summary

  • Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a clinical setting.
  • Manage long-range goals and clinical contingencies.
  • Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers.
  • Care for patients on rehab, surgical, and respiratory floors with a mixed patient census.

Patient Population

  • Rehab patients (9th floor)
  • Surgical and respiratory patients (11th floor)
  • Mixed patient types across floors due to census

Responsibilities

  • Meet applicable nursing competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).
  • Provide nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred
  • Experience with trach/vent and high flow oxygen recommended but not required
  • Rehab experience recommended but not required

Additional Information

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity possible
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
