Job Opportunity: RN - PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Job Summary

Seeking a competent Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse with ventilator experience. The nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing clinical situations and delegating tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Meet applicable leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Experience working with pediatric patients.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Additional Requirements

• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
• New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must complete organizational and Pediatric Services-specific competency validations.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Work Schedule

• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Day Shift)
• Full Time
