• Unit Type: Stepdown/MedSurg
• Number of Beds: 20
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • MedSurg Floor: 1:5-6
• Nurse Aides: Yes, 2 per shift
• Respiratory Therapy Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, high flow
• Telemetry: Yes, monitored remotely; RNs read strips

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

• Respiratory issues
• Weakness
• Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
• Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
• Chest pain

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating, day or evening shifts
• Call/Standby: None
• Floating: Not required
• Orientation: Unit-specific, includes 12-hour night shifts and weekends as scheduled
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Required Certifications & Skills

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• Stepdown nursing experience required
• Ability to titrate drips (Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, amiodarone)

Additional Requirements

• Must include a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with submission
• Any licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission

Summary

This is a 13-week travel RN assignment in a Stepdown/MedSurg unit with a 20-bed capacity. The role requires experience in stepdown nursing, ability to manage titratable drips, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
