Job Description
- Position: Endoscopy Technician
- Shift: 4x10 hour days (40 hours per week)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, every 5th weekend
- Weekend Requirement: On-call every 5th weekend
- Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Accommodations possible
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks)
Required Skills
- Experience with procedures including:
- Per UD (Unit Description)
- EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)
- EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound)
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- ION (likely referring to Ion Endoscopy)
- Colonoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit description (UD) or clinical track

Time Off & Scheduling Restrictions
- Only one time off request per 13-week assignment, up to 5 days or less
- No holiday time off requests for auto-offer assignments
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (specific requirements for Alaska placements)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing (annual requirement for travel starts after 2/5/2024)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
Additional Requirements
- Must complete required competency exams and skills checklists as applicable
- May be required to complete specialty-specific and regulatory training modules annually via LMS platform
- Must comply with floating policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Must complete Epic training modules and provide transcripts as required
- Must comply with state-specific background and registry checks if applicable
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician, with recent experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
- Experience with Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Experience with Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
- Experience with Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Experience with Ion Endoscopy (ION)
- Experience with Colonoscopy
- Experience with Bronchoscopy
Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for on-call and weekend responsibilities as outlined
- Floating within scope of practice is expected to meet facility needs
- Local candidates are not eligible; must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
- All certifications and documentation must be current and verifiable prior to start
