Ultrasound Technologist (General) - Temp Position

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with proficiency in general, OB/GYN (non high-risk), and vascular ultrasound imaging. The role involves performing approximately 15 scans per day, including abdomen, small parts, and various Doppler studies. Experience with EPIC EMR is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams including:

  • Abdomen/RUQ with liver vessel evaluation
  • Kidneys & bladder
  • Pelvis (transabdominal and transvaginal)
  • 1st trimester OB (transabdominal and transvaginal)
  • Testicle/scrotum evaluation
  • Venous Doppler (DVT evaluation of arms and legs)
  • ABIs (Ankle-Brachial Index)
  • Thyroids, aortas, and carotids
  • Limited 2nd/3rd trimester OB (BPP, measurements, fluid checks)
• Assist with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures (preferred but not required)
• Use EPIC EMR system for documentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer
• Experience in general/abdomen, non high-risk OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound
• ARDMS certification in Abdomen (required)
• ARDMS certification in Vascular Technology (highly preferred)
• ARDMS certification in OB/GYN (highly preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license for Ultrasound Technologists (if applicable)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Valid driver’s license
• Professional references within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Open to first-time travel Ultrasound Technologists with at least 2 years of experience
• Approximately 36-40 hours per week, with overtime after 40 hours
• Orientation start date is firm; candidate must be available to start on the specified date

Specialty Experience Required

• At least 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience (highest requirement)

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required; first-time travelers with sufficient experience are accepted
