Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC)

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position in Intermediate Care (IMC) unit
• Shift: 0700-1900, 3 shifts per week (3x12)
• Every other weekend required (schedule directed by unit based on operational needs)
• Float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed (ratios on these units are 1:5/1:6)
• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Telemetry nursing
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multiple state and federal checks
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (does not include marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunization and health documentation including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within last year or as required)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams (must score 80% or higher)

Work Environment

• Float assignments to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Patient ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 depending on unit
• Every other weekend work required

Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to complete all required certifications, background checks, and health documentation prior to start
• Relias EKG exam remediation is available if initial attempt is unsuccessful
• Facility-specific training modules must be completed before the assignment start date
