Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Job Details

• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
• Bed Size: 22 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Patient Types: General medical surgical
• Common Procedures: Heparin drips
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Float Requirement: Must float across multiple campuses within the area
• EMR System: EPIC
• Work Hours: 36-40 hours/week, overtime billable after 40 hours
• Orientation Dates Available: March 30, April 13 (sooner starts prioritized)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
• Previous travel nursing experience within the past 18 months required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact/multistate license
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Skills checklist specific to medical surgical nursing
• Professional reference or performance evaluation within the last 24 months preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
• De-escalation certification (MAB, MOAB, CPI, SAMA) highly preferred; can be obtained during onboarding

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Level I experience
• De-escalation certification highly preferred
