Job Description

• Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Required experience: Minimum 2 years in Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU
• Employment type: Travel assignment

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Texas
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Completion of specialty competency exams and core competencies demonstrating proficiency in respiratory therapy
• Documentation of immunizations and health requirements including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
  • Fit Test (annual respiratory protection fit test)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • TB screening (Positive IGRA or PPD with negative chest X-ray and annual questionnaire)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations)
  • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations)
• Drug screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
• Employment and education verifications completed prior to assignment
• Health statement or physical exam completed prior to first assignment and updated annually
• Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• The assignment includes completion of onboarding education and attestations prior to or at the start of the contract.
• The contract worker will complete a post-assignment survey.
