Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position requiring NBRC (RRT) certification and an active Indiana state license.
- Every Other Week (EOW) shift schedule required.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Floating between multiple hospital campuses may be required.
- Minimum of 18 months total experience with at least 18 months recent ICU experience.
- Education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA.
Required Certifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or equivalent.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent.
- Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on the unit.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start date (specific respirator models required).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
- Required immunizations and titers including:
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year.
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Color blindness exam with 100% minimum score.
Background and Documentation
- Background checks including SSN trace, county, statewide, national sex offender, and FACIS Level III.
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required.
- Employment application with full work history and explanation of any gaps over 30 days.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment within 2 years.
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually.
- Compliance with facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Floating between multiple hospital campuses is required.
- Mandatory completion of 22 facility-specific RRT training modules before orientation.
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and limited to certain locations.
- Strict immunization and health screening policies with no exemptions accepted for certain vaccines.
- Must complete all required documentation and competency exams prior to start.
