Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. This is a travel contract position requiring every other week (EOW) shifts. First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Prior Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
• Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county and statewide criminal checks, national sex offender registry, and FACIS Level III
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Official transcript or diploma verifying education
• Education verification by third party
• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific approved respirators required)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score for online test
• References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with appropriate supervisory titles
• Skills checklist within 12 months and annually thereafter
• Completion of facility-specific compliance and orientation documents prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Completion of mandatory online modules specific to RRTs prior to orientation (22 modules covering safety, compliance, infection prevention, HIPAA, and clinical protocols)
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
• Unit competency exam required
• HIPAA acknowledgment and orientation safety manual acknowledgment required

Notes

• Effective 11/30/24, Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to work at these facilities except for perioperative, allied, and ambulatory RN travelers. This does not affect RRTs.
• On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and not at all campuses. PAPR use requires prior facility approval except at certain campuses where it is automatically approved.
• Floating between multiple campuses is required as part of the assignment.
