Position Details

• Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Unit Level: Level II Nursery
• Schedule: Nights
• Patient Population: Neonates 29-34 weeks gestation
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Float: Yes, to well baby unit within scope
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Block Scheduling: Not available
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 1 year of recent NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience
• Experience working with neonate patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float within scope to well baby unit
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (declinations not accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a different pay rate (pay details not included)
• On-call is not required
• Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 1 request allowed
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required

This position is ideal for experienced NICU nurses seeking a travel contract with night shifts in a Level II nursery setting. Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted.
