Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical Surgical (Renal Med Surg) patient care. Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6, with an average daily census of 48 patients.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.
• Weekend shifts every other weekend unless otherwise specified.
• Call is not required.
• Holiday work expectations: If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the nurse is expected to work it; if two holidays, both; if three, two must be worked. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day.
• Scrub color: Navy Blue.
• Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly recommended).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Background check and education verification required prior to start.
• Color blindness testing and competency exams (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG) required.

Additional Notes

• Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length.
• Locals are accepted at the same rate.
• References and skills checklist required by the staffing agency but not by the client.
• Floating and flexibility within the unit are expected.
