Job Details

• Urgent need for Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• Candidates located at least 50 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; standard Medical Surgical RN experience expected
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma required
• State-specific employability and misconduct registry checks required within 30 days of start (Texas)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Fit mask test (annual, specific mask types required)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (time sensitive, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• TB questionnaire annually
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; non-immune candidates must receive boosters
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; boosters if titer low/equivocal
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; non-immune candidates must receive boosters
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival
• Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Two professional references within 3 years
• Resume or employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (including vaccination, TB, confidentiality, compliance, and security agreements)
• Candidate must complete traveler identification and other facility-required forms prior to start

Additional Notes

• Parking available for orientation and employment with no fee
• Orientation includes required modules taking approximately 3-4 hours

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with Medical Surgical experience seeking a travel contract in Texas. Compliance with all licensure, certification, background, and health requirements is mandatory.
