Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- ICU setting with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Float required
- Weekend shifts required
- Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
- Open to first-time travelers
- Minimum 1+ years of ICU nursing experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience, with recent Med Surg experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I-9 verification
- E-Verify compliance
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender registry, education verification, fingerprinting (completed onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements)
- Education verification with highest level confirmed
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Completion of employment application/resume
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
- Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting onsite during orientation before starting work
- Clear headshot photo required for badge issuance
- Various competency exams and core testing may be required depending on role and agency status
