Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician
  • Shift: Primarily day shifts (06:30 AM - 07:00 PM), with some evening shifts (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM) possible (up to 2 weeks of the 6-week schedule).
  • On Call/Weekend: 6 calls per 6-week schedule; 1 weekend shift and/or 1 holiday per 6-week schedule.
  • Float Requirement: If no cardiac cases, may float to general surgery.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with at least 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multiple state and federal checks.
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Immunization and health documentation required, including:
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
    • Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tdap vaccinations or titers.
  • N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (may be completed onsite if needed).
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Must be able to meet on-call and weekend shift requirements.
  • Ability to float to general surgery if cardiac cases are unavailable.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized surgical environment with a focus on cardiovascular and vascular cases, requiring strong technical skills and surgical experience.
