Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide independent nursing care in a telemetry setting, managing patients with cardiac conditions and some medical-surgical overflow. Responsibilities include routine and complex care, patient assessment, medication administration, patient education, and delegation to other care providers.

Patient Population

• Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Arrhythmias
• Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
• Medical-surgical overflow
• Management of cardiac drips (no nitrates)

Work Schedule

• Dayshift: 7 AM – 7 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating to other units as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Additional Information

• New hires must complete orientation and competency validations, including MedSurg-specific competencies.
• Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available.
