Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Location: Grand Haven, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shift options: 2:30pm - 11:00pm OR 12:30pm - 9:00pm
• 1.5 weekends per month required
• Memorial Day shift is not mandatory

Required Experience

• Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard MLT competency required
• Experience with Meditech system preferred

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid Medical Laboratory Technician license for Michigan
• American Heart Association BLS certification (current, with front and back card images)
• Specialty exam completed within the last year
• Skills checklist within the last year
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within the last year)
• Respirator evaluation with physician signature (required for certain locations)
• Color vision test

Immunization & Health Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine (including booster proof or approved exemption) valid through Sept 2025
• MMR vaccination proof or primary source IgG titer
• Fit test for mask (specific to Iowa, but generally required)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series (proof required; titers not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine or approved exemption for current and next flu seasons
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test (within last year for Michigan)
• Varicella vaccination proof or IgG titer
• Tdap vaccine (current, declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)

Background & Screening Requirements

• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (NO THC)
• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check from last 7 years (including SSN verification) dated within 30 days of start
• Education verification (highest level of academic education)
• Exclusion screenings (EPLS, OIG/GSA) dated within 30 days of start
• Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form
• Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
• Code of Conduct Form
• Integrity and Audit Services Form
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days of start (including statewide for Michigan)
• System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start
• Standard I9 completed by agency
