Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week
• Unit: High risk cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: May float within scope to all inpatient units at both campuses
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
• Guaranteed Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week for 3 shifts of 12 hours
• Special Requirements:

  • Cardiac drip management
  • Sheath pulls
  • Central line management

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with cardiac drip management
• Experience with sheath pulls

• Type: Acute Care Hospital
• Unit Beds: 40 beds on unit, 222 beds in facility
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide and nationwide searches)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Fingerprinting required for assignments in long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• Primary source verification of RN license required
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including multiple substances, must be current throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap (or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Required facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (e.g., HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code) must be completed prior to start
• Competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists required and must be current
• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

• Must adhere to facility policies including fingernail, dress code, and hand hygiene policies
• Candidates must be prepared to float within inpatient units as needed
• No local candidates accepted for this travel position
